Stargate-Welten.de is proud to welcome Katie "Khatie" Postma, Senior Community Manager of Firesky and Chris "Ledaye" Klug, Creative Director of Stargate Worlds, who is in charge of everything game-system and game-content wise. The Dev Chat itself will be held in English, but of course you can raise your questions in German. We will do our utmost to accuratly translate them in a timely manner.     meric asks: will items have more than a level requirement to use/wear them, e.g. 25 points strength, 37 points dexterity and 50 points weaponskill xy?

    <Khatie> Hello Kalan thank you for having us :)
    <ledaye> The armor/equipment requirement is called Tech Competency. It is not exactly the same as level, but close. No stat is required.

    [SG-P]Sayangu asks: Can we expect Daniel Jackson to die in the game?
    <Khatie> That's an awesome question, actually.
    <ledaye> No, but other members of SG-1 MIGHT.
    <Khatie> Ooooh... ;)

    DarthHunter[Ecl] asks: The Comic Con event and the new media caused good, but also negative feedback in the forums. Particularly the combat system is currently most debated. How do you evaluate the current forum feedback? Think you're already on the right track?
    <ledaye> WE feel the combat system is the best in any MMO. It is not, nor will it ever be an FPS. This is very important to understand. We never wanted it to be 'real', we wanted it to be FUN. And FUN it is. One press member ran up into the Lucia POI and a firefight erupted. He lept from his seat. Oh, wow, he said, I'm suprised as how exciting it is. That is what we are aiming for. We are on the right track.

    SGFE|Micelle asks: Could you tell us how many employees work at SGW?
    <Khatie> Right now there are about 70 people working on SGW but we have over 150 employees at FireSky in total now. LOTS of cool things coming up!!

    [SG-P]Sayangu asks: We didn't see mobs on Agnos, how will they look like?
    <ledaye> Agnos is infested with agents of the Big Bad, so we can't show them yet. They are amazing, though.

    meric asks: will boss encounters always appear instanced or will there be some of them roaming around or waiting at a special location in the "free world"?
    <ledaye> Well, since our combat system is design for firefights, 'boss' encounters are quite different from other games. There is really only one 'boss'.The Big Bad. You mainly fight his allies. Most of those allies fight in groups. Those groups are self-supporting and mutually dependent on each other. They are alien. Not human. Most of those encounters happen in the open world. But you might call those fights 'boss' fights, because they are very intense. You need a combined team of soldiers and scientists to fight them, because you need someone to 'deactivate' their power source.

    [3pa] asks: Is there any plan to outsource de customer support and the game master service for SGW?
    <Khatie> We are doing a combination of both. We have a full CS team at FireSky that will be working with SGW, but also have outsourced some of the support to another, experienced vendor. We plan to have our CS teams active in Open Beta phase. The European (and DE) customer support will be done through our European Publisher who we have not announced yet. :)
